A small percentage of the population actually sets goals and writes them down. These are the ones that usually excel in life. There is a direct connection. Those who have written goals generally make a lot more money; have better health and better relationships. Statistically, those who have written goals and a written plan to achieve them end up in the top 3% or their field. Why not you? It doesn’t cost you any money and it doesn’t take too long to set basic goals. There are many different ways or procedures to accomplish it if you haven’t done it before. Many will tell you it is a waste of time. These are the ones that may or may not have a job. Often they are in the same place or worse than they were 10 years ago and they complain and blame about everything. They will blame who is in office, their upbringing, their education, where they live and in fact almost anything that shifts the responsibility from them.
It is really up to you. Everyone can improve their lot in life. Maybe they can’t all go from one extreme to the other but if just a little thing is improved every day, great things can happen in a year. Maybe set that as a goal, to improve some area of your life every day. Areas to consider are spiritual, family, wealth, health, cleanliness, parenting, husband and wife relationships, places to go, things to have, things to read, things to learn, things to accomplish, people to meet. How do you improve in these areas? Often times it is a matter of asking questions. Take spirituality for example. If you want real answers, the true religion grows through bringing the message to the people, usually at their homes. The next time someone shows up at your door ask questions. In other areas, ask of people who have already accomplished what you have not. Most people will be glad to help you. Sometimes reading a book on the subject will give you direction. For Real Estate, you’re at a good place. Get my book if you haven’t already done so. If you apply what is in the book you should be able to make 10,000 times what the book costs. In my opinion and from what I have observed, the biggest obstacle for people achieving great things is screen time. The average person spends 6-8 hours a day in front of some sort of screen. It may be social media, TV, or computer games. Make it a goal to cut your time in half and you may be able to use that time to reach your other goals. One last thing to help you reach your goals is to give yourself a lot of authority. Most people just have to go to work on their work days whether they feel like it or not because they have given authority in a sense to their employer. When it comes time to doing what you should whether it be going to the gym, reading a book or some other thing on your goal, just do it. Don’t give yourself the option of whether you feel like it or not. You have more authority than your employer and you don’t give in to excuses. If you would like to share your real estate goals, I would like to hear them. I may be able to help you achieve them. Happy Investing!
